Rainer Christian Kurzeder is a Berlin-based photographer and visual artist. His work moves between portraiture, documentary observation, and long-term photographic series that explore identity, relationships, and emotional in-between spaces. A particular focus of his practice lies in questions of proximity, distance, and what remains unspoken within familial and social structures.
Since 2024, he has been attending the masterclass at the Ostkreuz School of Photography in Berlin under Linn Schröder and Ingo Taubhorn. His current long-term series Beyond the Silence examines the relationship between fathers and their queer sons and was first presented in 2026 at Haus am Kleistpark in Berlin. Alongside his artistic practice, his professional background in communication, printing, and publishing continues to inform his sensitivity to narrative, materiality, and visual language.
